Going to Squeezer’s Palace for smoothies in Riverside.
It’s super dog-friendly, they always give Fritz treats, and I love going up to the window and ordering and then sitting outside on their patio - even more fun when we walk there.
It’s nice to have fun little community places like this.
Obsession of the Week:
My warm, never-bulky, goes-with-anything, black puffer jacket.
Another reason I think I like this thing is that it’s the same brand and type that our guides on Mt. Rainer wore. Adventure guides are like camp counselors - perpetually cool.

Crackers - Premium Saltine Minis.
My mom used to buy these for me, and to my delight they recently showed back up. This smaller version is just enough more buttery than regular saltines and super soothing.

Tastes like cream.
I picked mine up at Natural Grocers, and I’m so glad I gave it a try.

My new Gap Love Collection satin tap shorts.
Just the thought of owning ’30s-inspired tap shorts makes me smile. This version is called Autumn Leaves and pairs nicely with several tank tops I already own in pink, gray, green, white, etc.
Wearing satin lounge wear around the house feels much more elegant than cotton.

Ballet.
I’ve become a balletomane. What started with Natalie Portman and Black Swan has culminated with two recent ballet books: A Company of Swans, borrowed on a whim from Tera Lee, and The True Memoirs of Little K, which has also been feeding my Russia love.
As Little K author Adrienne Sharp says, “I think it’s not only the beauty of the art that draws us, but also the discipline and rigor of it.”

I’ve been catching up on old Parks & Recreation episodes, and I absolutely love Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope and her fondness for excessive amounts of whipped cream.

Lemonade.
My lemon fixation continues this week with stops at Riverfest for outdoor fair booth lemonade. The tangy taste provides the perfect thirst quencher for the recent heat.
I’m making my own version this weekend with basil & mint.

FAGE Yogurt with Honey
Not normally a yogurt fan, I’ve found a variety I like here. FAGE’s creamy tanginess is a rich thick treat on its own. Dipped in honey it’s a winning combo, with enough calories & nutrients to make it part of a solid afternoon snack.

The Hunger Games Trilogy
I thought these books were going to be all futuristic and weird, but I was so wrong! I just finished the first book and can’t wait to read the next two.
I’m tempted to only read young adult books from here on. They are always my favorites anyway. (See last year’s all-consuming Luxe series and The Carrie Diaries duo, the newest one - Summer in the City - is out now, and it’s on my birthday list.)
