I don’t cook all that much per se, but I do a ton of meal preparation - cutting up fresh fruits & veggies, washing an endless stream of plastic containers from our lunches, meticulously organizing and prioritizing the fridge.
To start the week off right tonight, I did cook this black bean, avocado, spinach and grapefruit quinoa with lime cumin dressing.
Highlight of the evening: Kumquats
And of course, watching Revenge.
For Mother’s Day:
Dinner at Il Vicino (where we saw Andre!)
Followed by homemade chocolate ice cream
Spring Traditions
Spring is a good time of year for one of my favorite foods - bread.
St. Patrick’s Day = Irish Soda Bread
Good Friday = Hot Cross Buns
Easter Dinner = Seasonal Rolls
We like to try new products, especially bars. These Milk Bite Milk & Granola Bars have gotten a lot of advertising trade press, so I got my personal shopper on it (thanks, mom) and we quite like them. Maybe moist bars will become a new trend?
P.S. They make for a good afternoon snack that satisfies the sweet tooth.
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day. I filled mine with hearts at every meal.
Deviled Eggs
If three is a trend, four is official.
I’ve seen versions of deviled eggs on the last four restaurant menus I’ve looked at. I think it’s the newest food trend.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.

Why I’m never afraid to make a mess in the kitchen.
Feb. 6: Dinner
My mom makes the best salads. This one includes Romain, avocado, orange, grapefruit, pomegranate seeds & purple cabbage.
